Chastity Care

Have you been thinking about wearing a chastity device but aren't sure what all is involved? Aside from the D/s aspect of chastity there are some "housekeeping" items that many people just beginning with chastity aren't aware of. Below are some tips for making your initial venture into long-term chastity a success!

Which Chastity Device Should I Purchase?

If you are working with a FemDom Mistress, check with her first, as she will likely have a specific device in mind that she wants you to wear. One of the most widely used chastity devices is the CBT6000 (or CBT2000, and CBT3000, its predecessors). The CBT6000 is made of a lightweight acrylic that encapsulates the penis and testicles. This device is relatively light and easy to keep clean and is usually the best choice for those just beginning their foray into chastity. It comes with a variety of spacers and rings to customize the device for the best fit possible.

Some FemDoms (and long term chastity boys) prefer the heavier feeling of metal devices instead of the lightweight plastic chastity devices. Mature Metal offers a variety of metal rings and devices that are custom fitted and are usually the best choice for those into more hardcore or longer term chastity. The bottom line is that no matter which device you are wearing, proper cleaning and care is a must!

Maintaining Proper Chastity Hygiene

It is crucial that proper hygiene be maintained while wearing the chastity device. Depending on the type of device you are wearing, using squirt bottle filled with soapy water can be used to squirt into the cage openings to help keep clean. Some men may prefer to soak in the tub to allow water to work its way inside the cage. Whichever method you use, it is important to make sure the area is dried properly. Using Q-tips inside the openings is a good way to help cut down on unnecessary moisture. A cool hairdryer is also a good way to help keep the area dry.

Chaffing, Itching, and Irritation

It is common for the device to be uncomfortable and a source of frustration. It is important to try several combinations of rings and spacers to adjust the device for maximum comfort (or in this case, probably more like minimum discomfort). Start out by wearing the cage for just a few hours at a time, continuing to go about your daily activities. The busier you are for the first few hours (or in some cases, the first few days), the less focused you will be on the discomfort and the quicker the time will pass while you are locked up.

While we mention the slight discomfort involved with wearing a cage, it is more of a discomfort from having the sense of the penis being "trapped" than an actual discomfort. If you find you are experiencing heavy discomfort or pain, then something is not right. Try taking the device off and changing out the rings and spacers to create a looser fit.

Blue Balls

It is common after the cage has been worn a few days to experience what is known as "blue balls." Blue balls refers to the dull ache felt in the scrotum as a result of semen build-up. The term is a bit misleading, as the balls should not change in color at all when experiencing this condition. If the scrotal sack is actually blue or purple and appears swollen, the base ring is too tight. This should be adjusted immediately because extended loss of blood flow can cause unnecessary and unwanted damage.

Chaffing and Rashes

As mentioned above, it is imperative that the genital area be kept clean and dry. Using Q-tips to dry between the cage and the genitals or using a hair dryer on the cool setting is the most common way to accomplish this. Some men prefer to wear the device with no lubricant, others prefer to use their favorite lubricant. Many suggest using hand lotion to prevent chaffing. Again, using a Q-tip, apply lotion to the genitals, paying special attention to apply liberally between the cage and the penis.

Prostate Milking

It is necessary to prevent excess semen build-up in the testicles in order to maintain prostate health. Those in chastity for the long-term should milk the prostate at least monthly, using the Aneros or other prostate massager. Usually this is done under the direction of the FemDom, but if you'd like to learn more about it, check out this article about how to milk the prostate.

Short term chastity of a couple of weeks or less does not require any action to be taken to prevent sperm build-up, though certainly if you and/or your FemDom Mistress enjoy milking the prostate, why not just do it!
